48 Head Sold at ISBA Spring Sale in River Falls
The Indianhead Sheep Breeders Association held its annual Spring Sheep Sale on Sunday, April 11th at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Mann Valley Farm. The sale was conducted by auctioneer Jon Mork of Beldenville, Wisconsin. The sale was well attended with 48 head sold at a sale average of $185.10. Consignments included 46 ewe and wether club lambs, 1 Hampshire cross wether-style ram lamb and 1 registered Southdown ewe lamb consigned by the following consignors: Robinson Dorsets and Club Lambs, Brownsville, WI; Olson Club Lambs, Blanchardville, WI; Heins Club Lambs, Mineral Point, WI; Rolling Acres Club Lambs, Shell Lake, WI; Kinsley Show Lambs, Rochester, MN; Angela Krebs, Gratiot, WI; Jarek Livestock, Gratiot, WI; Corner View Club Lambs, Shawano, WI; Knutson Farms, River Falls, WI; Smerchek Show Lambs, Rosholt, WI and Circle B Show Lambs, Mineral Point, WI. Two lambs tied for the highest sale price, a crossbred ewe lamb consigned by Dan and Roy Wilson of Corner View Club Lambs, Shawano, WI and a club lamb consigned by Dan Smerchek of Smerchek Show Lambs, Rosholt, WI. They both sold for $375 to Jeco Beyrer of Colfax, WI. Three lambs sold for $300: a club lamb from Roger and Laura Olson of Olson Club Lambs, Blanchardville, WI to Michael Doll, Mosinee, WI, a club lamb from Angela Krebs, Gratiot, WI to Jeco Beyrer, Colfax, WI. and a registered Southdown ewe lamb from Dan Smerchek of Smerchek Show Lambs, Rosholt, WI to Jeff and Mary Liddle, Roberts, WI.
The sale included a youth clinic presented by Dennis and Eric Kinsley of Kinsley Show Lambs, Rochester, MN. One vendor was in attendance, Profile Show Supply and Embroidery of Wausau, WI. Indianhead Sheep Breeders Association Board of Directors would like to express it’s gratitude to sale chairperson, Linda Mullendore for putting together another successful sale, and to all of the consignors and buyers. Thank you also to all who helped out with clerk duties, concession stand duties, pen set-up, marking and weighing, and clean-up. Next year’s sale is set for Sunday, April 3rd, 2011. |
